The Employability Fund is a National Training Programme designed to help participants reach their full potential in order for them to enter sustainable employment. The Employability Fund is available for individuals aged 16-64 who are unemployed and looking to gain the skills and knowledge required to enter employment.
For those aged 16-64 and not in receipt of benefits, a training allowance will be provided, those aged 18+ will still be entitled to full benefits allowance. On receipt of acceptable receipts, travel costs may also be reimbursed.
Training delivery can also include;
Providing tailored services and support for individuals who want to enter or return to employment, including the opportunity for customers to undertake a work placement with the option of completing a recognised qualification.
A 1-week induction to assess and understand the customers needs and aspirations and to prepare them to progress towards and into sustainable employment.
The preparatory placement phase to provide work tasters that will help customers identify the type of employment they would like to pursue. Phase 2 is optional.
A 2-week sector specific training programme, to prepare customers for a work placement in their chosen sector. Specific sectors include retail, customer services, hospitality, security industry and social care.
A variable period on work placement, where customers can be selected to complete an approved qualification. The placement will vary between 2-10 weeks depending on the needs and requirements of the customer.
